Tame Impala, Luke Steele, MGMT
Arriving at the amphitheatre, an hour away from the city - and even for Perth that's a long way away, it was a sight for sore eyes, we wondered around waiting for the first act to start, being Tame Impala, once things got under way we still just wondered around, Tame Impala were just playing in the background not really making much of an impact. For a band that won so many awards and is meant to be a massive up and coming, not particularly impressed, but then again their type of music isn't my favourite either. Between the acts were two DJs, I think it was Too Many DJs? I'm not sure, they were alright, not fantastic.
Next was Luke Steele, who was without a doubt the best bit about the concert. Without knowing a single song he had me captivated, he rocked it by himself with just an acoustic guitar, which he started to break at the last song which was awesome.
Then came the headline act MGMT, now if I've ever been unimpressed these guys were it. They sounded great, but did nothing, and even as a fan I couldn't tell where some songs started and ended. Although I was surprised that they were a band more than two guys on synths and a drum machine. But yeah, essentially was very unimpressed, Luke Steele to save the day, shame he wasn't the concert.
