Boom Boom Pow
Godskitchen wasn't your average Black Eyed Peas Boom Boom Pow. It was FAR from that!
I grabbed these ticks under the impression I was going to a laser-light show. OH SO WRONG! It wasn't until months later when I finally had a closer look at my ticket that I realised it was a rave. Crazy! Not quite my cup of tea, but I am always open for suggestions.
The day rolled by and the big question on my mind was - too nap? or not to nap? I was worried. What if I had a narcoleptic episode ? I mean the rave it did go all night.
Sunday night arrived and i was ready (one of my buddies tried to teach me how to shuffle - not so successful!). Midnight. and Boom! The Boombox lit up. Absolutely unreal! The bass fed through my body, lights slicing through the Horden. SYDNEY ROCKS! The full capacity venue erupted.
Blanc and Jones kicked off the night. I was eased into the night of doof doof with a mix of Seven Seas. My feet and body could do nothing but bounce to the beat.
After a few bev stops I lost my pals. Alas - it was time to make some friends. The highly energised crowd was so friendly, definitely not what I was expecting! I found the biggest, meatiest blokes in the pavilion and basically launched myself onto their shoulders.
Just dance. dance. dance. dance. dance.
Jes. Cosmic Gate. Fleming 00 Jones. I had discovered a new love for trance. It wasn't love at first sight, but a one night stand basically did it for me!
6am and I really didn't want to leave. the DJ's had stopped but I could still feel the trance in my veins. Seriously, what a night!
The Lesson learnt here- No matter how apprehensive you are to a genre of music, don't diss it till you try it! Musicians are a unique breed. We live for the rhythm, the harmonies and the rush. We are passionate and all we want is for people to enjoy our craft.
Cheers to Godskitchen. Wish I owned your Boombox.
