Good Vibes Line Up
It's out and so it begins for the fight as to whether its a good line up or not. I have mixed emotions really whilst most are dead set in awe. Salt-N-Pepa made me laugh but then I realised it seems they've gone for key bands songs that have with cult-like status of a very naughty nature. (and not just the band either). There's Art vs. Science with "Parlez vous francais?" probably the latest with lyrics ask "do you speak french? If you do please remove your blouse" haha gets me everytime.
Another one with down and dirty antics is of course Salt-N-Pepa! If you haven't heard of "Lets Talk About Sex" then you were a deprived child. I grew up with it from giggling to it saying the word sex to me and my friends openly screaming it at the top of our lungs as we blast it from the speakers driving along just for the sake of indecency.
I can't not mention Gym Class Heroes they bring back the best memories when i stumbled upon there songs via Myspace before most of australia ever did (self-proclaimed) and remember having my ipod in just laughing at the lyrical genius of "Cupid's Chokehold" with a special mention to "The Queen and I" just for its truthful qualities about the ladettes of today!
Without getting ahead of myself I am quite excited for Gossip. Whether or not their style is quite suited to the sweaty almost naked bodies of Good Vibes we will soon find out. What i can guarantee is they will pull the crowd with their recent hit "Heavy Cross" but the rest we shall see. Kid Kudi, I'm aware has quite a strong fan base and i too have a few favourite songs from him, but its uncomfortable to see how the underground following of the more alternative will mix with those down for the novelty of the more well known artists where everyone will know ALL the songs.
Of course The Killers will pull massive crowds but again slightly left from centre to the usual genres of Good Vibes but go hand and hand with Gossip cleverly drawing a better variety of music lovers who are bound to be familiar with the other headline acts Basement Jaxx and Armand Van Helden.
I give them props for being well known but not personally their biggest fans. Ive seen Basement Jaxx and can't bring myself to get excited about Armand Van Helden even though I'm sure the crowd will go wild. It toes the line on my taste in house. I'm still yet to decide if I'll get a ticket. Knowing me I will..t.b.a. haha
