My name is Jeremy Story Carter. I’ve been waiting for something like this my whole life.
When I was 15, I had articles published in The Melbourne Times and Education Times.
By the time I was 17, I had two years of radio experience on 90.7 Syn FM; contributing to a variety of blues and alternative music shows and interviewing THE BLACK KEYS along the way.
At 18, I took a year off to travel, but before I could get overseas I had to work a lousy corporate job for six months. To keep myself sane, I took to hosting a new music program where I was fortunate enough to interview VINNE PAUL from PANTERA, SIGUR RÓS, THE MESS HALL and KISSCHASEY among others.
That gig landed me an audition for a job as a band interviewer for Falls TV which, after a series of call-backs, I was successful in getting.
My experiences at last year’s Falls Festival stand as some of the best of my life. In the space of a frenzied few days, I interviewed FRANZ FERDINAND, FLEET FOXES, THE KOOKS, JAMIE LIDELL and C.W. STONEKING as well as delivering several sport updates, each shown on the festival’s main screens.
I have just completed the second year of my Arts (Journalism) degree at Monash University, write regularly for FasterLouder.com.au (my profile) and am co-editor of film and music online-magazine, ( Emptypocketmedia.com ).
As you can see, my whole life has been building towards something like this. If selected, I know I possess the experience and ability as a writer, interviewer and presenter to succeed at this life-changing opportunity.
