Well, my church decided to organise a "Carols by Candle Light" a few weeks ago and it didn't seem to have the effect that we hoped for.
With the lack of energy in buying "star wands", glow sticks and other electronic items that work in the dark - with the exception of the light sabers, which were sold out - members on stage carried the theme with the lights allowing them to glow magically.
What doe this have to do with me?
I MC'd the carols along with a fellow Youth Leader and we received a quiet responses from the audiences - I had to force myself to accept that the grasshoppers were not resounding.
But nevertheless, night went well...sales dominated with the caterers - BBQ and Drinks, along with confectionary compliments.
The Church members were great and we had a great reception from the community.
I guess you never really know success unless you here the response...or maybe you should just realise, occationally your deafened by expectation.
(We Performed on the same stage as GUY SEBASTIAN and NEW EMPIRE)
